Biography and Credentials
In addition to her clinical mental health background, Barbara has had a long-term interest in the mind-body connection. She has studied energy medicine, yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong, breath work, and other body-mind and emotional freedom techniques. She has the drive to teach others practical and concrete strategies for rapid stress reduction, increasing personal energy, managing moods, and creating productive thinking.
Prior to shifting totally to private practice Barbara provided decades of administrative and clinical management to large outpatient mental health clinics in Boston. Clinically she supervised others and provided direct treatment to adolescents and adults. Administratively she helped to motivate and build successful work teams, created positive work cultures, and managed people and processes through organizational change and stressful work environments. She finds this dual background of clinical and management expertise helpful when working with a professional population.
She’s provided consultation and training to private corporations, public agencies, and school systems on time management, stress management, wellness, and a variety of mental health topics. She’s given community talks on creating happiness, navigating transitions, and breath and other body-mind techniques for stress reduction.
Her passion is to lead a fulfilled life, with a sense of humor, vitality, rich relationships, and meaningful work. Her mission is to help others to reach and live their full potential.
